(A Tale of Feathery Flight Across Seven Lands!)
Where Do Seagulls Go in Winter?
When winter winds begin to blow,
Where do all the seagulls go?
Do they huddle up and stay real tight,
Or take off on a frosty flight?
Let’s follow them from near and far,
Across the world—oh, what a star!
Seven lands, across the sea,
Where winter’s warm, wild, or snowy be!
North America – The Laughing Gull’s Flight
From Canada’s lakes and icy spray,
The laughing gull must fly away!
Down to the Gulf, where the waters are bright,
Munching on fish in the warm sunlight.
South America – The Kelp Gull’s Stay
Down in Brazil, no snow is found,
The kelp gull stays and flaps around!
With beaches gold and waves so sweet,
They never have to hide their feet!
Europe – The Black-Headed Glee
From England’s cliffs to Paris lights,
Black-headed gulls take winter flights.
Some head south, to Spain they soar,
Where warm winds dance along the shore!
Africa – The Grey-Headed Seagull Rest
In Africa’s sun, so hot and bright,
Grey-headed gulls find winter right.
They need no coats, no icy fear,
Just ocean waves and skies so clear!
Asia – The Siberian Chill
From Russia’s snow where rivers freeze,
Siberian gulls must ride the breeze.
To India’s lakes and waters wide,
They find a place where they can glide!
Australia – The Silver Gull’s Stay
Down in Oz, it’s warm year-round,
So silver gulls don’t leave their ground.
By Sydney’s shore and coral bays,
They chirp and play on sunny days!
Antarctica – The South Polar Flight
Where glaciers shine and winds are bold,
The South Polar Skua loves the cold!
They flap their wings and chase the seals,
Snatching fish for chilly meals!
So when the frost begins to grow,
Now you know where seagulls go!
Some fly far, some stay near,
But all find joy in their time of year!
And when the springtime melts the snow,
Back they come with wings aglow!
Across the seas, their journeys end,
Until next winter comes again!
The End.
